Carrie deeply understands the need for a professional and efficient approach to private studio teaching. By optimizing her studio, Carrie has increased her teaching hours, expanded her business, and focused more on her personal life and family. In particular, teaching through several major health challenges inspired Carrie to curate resources that would enable her conscientious teaching, reduce the work-related stress, and generate time. Through EnForme, Carrie hopes to share those resources with other teachers who desire the same: excellence, growth, and wellness.

Carrie earned her B.A. in Music from Iowa State University in 1997 and has been teaching piano ever since. Her 28 years of music teaching experience encompass a wide range of teaching scenarios, including private lessons, group classes and lessons, and summer music camps. She currently teaches from her home studio (Rising Star Piano) in her hometown of Camden, Maine. Carrie is an active member of MTNA and MaineMTA, for which she has served as a board member.

Carrie is indebted to her parents, her dad who willingly paid for “all those lessons”, and her mom who wouldn’t let her quit until she paid back the cost of the piano. (Yes, picture THAT student.) Carrie loves to travel near and far with Peter, her husband of 31 years who has supported her in every way. They have two irreplaceable adult children and two precocious granddaughters.
